About

Building without a playbook.

Two decades of starting, teaching, failing, learning, and building again—mostly from scratch, often in places where the obvious path did not exist.

Who I am

I am Nikoloz Gogochuri, an entrepreneur, product leader, educator, mentor, and builder based in Tbilisi, Georgia. I have worked in technology since 2003 and have built companies, communities, educational programs, and media projects for more than two decades. My work sits where emerging technology meets real human needs: immersive travel and heritage experiences, cognitive-state regulation, entrepreneurship education, and honest conversations about the difficult parts of building.

I co-founded VRex Immersive, which develops immersive technology for travel, culture, education, aviation, industry, and public-sector clients. I also co-founded Neuropilot VR, where I lead product strategy and development for immersive cognitive-state regulation experiences. Alongside those ventures, I teach and mentor early-stage founders through programs in Georgia and online.

What shaped the work

My first venture was Orange Studio, an animation studio I founded in 2005. It later evolved through Idea Group into Orange Graphic. The work was practical, demanding, and useful: it taught me how to win clients, build a team, deliver under pressure, and survive when the plan stopped matching reality. Later, I co-founded CG Georgia, contributed to vocational curricula and workshops for artists, and led CG Fest Tbilisi in 2014.

I co-founded VRex Immersive in 2013 and have served as CEO since November 2017. In 2018, Startup Grind selected VRex among 50 startups from more than 6,000 applicants worldwide. In 2022 I co-founded Neuropilot VR. These ventures are different, but the operating question is the same: how can technology make an experience more useful, more human, and easier to understand?

Teaching and mentorship

I have mentored founders and teams since 2013 through government, university, accelerator, corporate, and community programs. I co-created the KIU–GITA Innovation and Startup Acceleration Summer School, a hands-on residential program with six completed annual editions from 2021 through 2026 and more than 250 cumulative participants.

I do not teach entrepreneurship as a collection of polished success stories. I teach from active practice: difficult investor conversations, failed experiments, hiring mistakes, uncertain markets, and the discipline required to keep moving. The goal is not to make building look easy. It is to make hard problems more legible and give people practical ways to act.

Media and public work

I created and hosted Limon10, a Georgian-language long-form interview series with 41 numbered episodes published between 2020 and 2022 and a documented live adaptation in 2024. The series is currently on hiatus. I also write about uncertainty, startups, mental health, discipline, and the human side of building things.
